FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – A Home Depot store in Federal Way was evacuated for a couple of hours Saturday because a suspicious device was found.
Employees found the tubular device with a fuse coming out of it near one of the store's entrances.
Bomb technicians used a robot to move the device around to the side of the building, then disrupted it.
"The store was evacuated for precautionary reasons, nobody's been harmed, nothing has been damaged, and the device, whatever it was, has been rendered inoperable," said Commander Kyle Sumpter, Federal Way Police.
Police say the device could possibly have been put together with items purchased at the store.
Ninety employees were evacuated, as well as a store full of shoppers.
