All eight Federal Way police officers have been reinstated after they were placed on leave earlier this month following an officer-involved shooting at an apartment complex, according to the Federal Way Mirror.

Five people were killed in the shooting at the Federal Way apartments on April 21.

The incident started as a case of domestic violence, police said. The suspect, identified by law enforcement as 28-year-old Dennis Clark III, shot and killed his girlfriend, Justine Baez.

Clark shot three other people at the apartment complex before police arrived, 23-year-old Ceasar A. Valdovinos, 47-year-old Bradley Fischer, and 62-year-old Roland L. Scobee. When officers arrived, investigators say he refused to obey their orders, so they fired, killing him.

Eight Federal Way Police officers were put on paid administrative leave, which is standard procedure after an officer-involved shooting.

The Auburn Police Department investigated the shooting.
