One person has died, two others are critically injured, and State Route 101 remains closed after a three car collision earlier this morning between Sequim and Port Angeles, State Patrol reports.

The Peninsula Daily News has reported that a total of five people were in the three cars, but doesn't specify their conditions.

The accident happened around 9 a.m. near milepost 258 and had the road fully blocked, according Winger. The road is expected to remain closed until 12:30 p.m.

Eastbound traffic is being diverted to Old Olympia Highway and westbound cars are being diverted to Kitchen Dick Road, according to Winger.
