Seattle police arrested a man Thursday in the sexual assault and robbery of an 80-year-old woman.
Police say the 34-year-old man was arrested in the International District around 7 a.m. and booked into the King County Jail. He was under active supervision by the Department of Corrections for a 2008 robbery and burglary.
Police say the victim was walking in the back door of an apartment complex Wednesday afternoon in the International District when a man followed the her inside.
Once inside the hallway of the building, the suspect punched the victim on the head and body, knocked her to the ground and sexually assaulted her while holding a knife against her body.
He then stole the victim’s money and fled the scene.
The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where she is being treated for her injuries.
Police believe the suspect has attacked and robbed two women at the apartment building.
