A young man survived an unbelievable accident earlier this month.

The State Patrol says the 22-year-old from Pullman was on his way back to school in Idaho when he fell asleep on Interstate 90 near Deer Lodge, Montana.

His SUV drifted off the road and the guard rail went straight through the vehicle.

The man was not injured.

Never the less amazing photos, with a nice ending to what could have been tragic.

Hope he was given a large ticket and has to pay for the repairs..falling asleep at the wheel is unexcusable, pull over and take a 20 minute nap before you kill somebody.

Ok a guy from Washington was heading to school in Idaho, but crashed a couple hundred miles into Montana. Did he fall asleep and over shoot his destination like the pilots over Minneapolis?

the remainder of the guardrail and its placement is amazing - only 'cause there was no loss of life. Exhaustion when driving is scary. He's very lucky this time.

Punched through not sliced. Hit the seam between two joints and had the bad luck of driving the rail though the truck. Good thing there was no passanger. The driver was protected by the engine block. Of course driving when you are tired is making your own bad luck and asking for something like this to happen.

How exciting! Good thing there wasn't a passenger in the right front seat.
