GRANITE FALLS, Wash. - Four years after his wife and daughter were found murdered while hiking in the Mt. Baker National Forest, David Stodden still has hope their killer will be found.

"I know this will one day be solved", Stodden says. "Someone knows something".

On the anniversary of the murder, Stodden walks the Pinnacle Lake Trail where Mary Cooper and Susanna Stodden  were both found shot in the head.  Their bodies were discovered about two miles up the trail by two other hikers on their decent.

Cooper was a Seattle school librarian.

Snohomish County Sheriff's Investigators have no suspects and still have no leads.

David Stodden was given two Polygraph tests not long after the murder but was never named as a suspect.

"I don't like the way I was treated during parts of the investigation", Stodden says. "If we keep this information out there, the real person who did this will be caught. I truly believe that".

Stodden still hangs posters with his wife and daughter's pictures on them.

"I'll never stop until this is over", he says.

Tips wanted

The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office asks anyone who may have information about the killings of Susanna Stodden and Mary Cooper to call the sheriff's tip line at 425-388-3845.

Tips also may be called in to Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound toll-free at 800-CRIME-13 (800-274-6313). The nonprofit organization The Mountaineers and friends of the Stodden family are offering a $26,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for the crimes.

liberterius - Too bad you don't have anything useful to add after a crisis. You sound like an unhappy person that also doesn't understand the concept of God and other unseen forces.

You do realize this is the Snohomish County Sheriff's office, not some "podunk town police department" right? Even the biggest, baddest departments have open cases they have not solved.

We wouldn't need to resort to anything along the ridiculousness as psychics if podonk pathetic towns like this had a half compentent police department. Let's throw some chicken bones on the ground too @ron_spot.

Not to be weird, but I would seriously look into finding a psychic. Not just anyone, but try a few. Silvia Brown has a long history. With so little physical evidence to go on, police detectives have been known to use them. There was a famous case in Texas where this lady was hired a few times every year to crack some big ones. Particularity if she could touch any of the evidence. Out of all the stories I read, this one really bothers me for several reasons. My heart pours out to the grief and shock that was caused to this family. A senseless stupid act by someone without any thought for people or society. I have not followed any of the details, but I feel both rage and compassion and it makes me sad when I read the story. I am was a hiker in that area and it also has affected my viewpoint. We need to draw the line with these killers and give them a quick and short life.

We may never know what happened, nor why. Until the perpetrator reoffends or confesses, the mystery of this tragedy will remain, haunting us.
