WESTPORT, Wash. - You would think after four consecutive storms have knocked out power, downed trees and caused flooding, residents on the Washington Coast would be getting sick of the weather.

Not at Westport.

"We love it. We moved here for it," said Westport resident John Christen.

Westport's City Manager said they've recorded more than seven inches of rain in the last seven days, and that was before the constant rain picked up Thursday morning.

Hilda Arnold lost two trees on her Westport property this week. The one that fell Wednesday night is still blocking her driveway. She called this week "terrible" and the worst she's seen in 20 years on the coast, but she has no plans to move.

A relative keeps telling her to move to Hawaii with them.

"It's too hot there," said Arnold.

I wish I lived on the coast! Plus there is always great beach combing after storms! Lucky residents...plus, theres nothing like "family night" around a lantern or fireplace (which most of the houses along the coast have).

i just don't get it why people would want to live on the coast. It's bad enough in the so-called "interior". One would really have to be a vampire to enjoy the cold & the gloom 320 days a year.
