The Pacific County Sheriff's Office is investigating after the body of a Renton woman was found on the beach near Grayland. The woman's 8-year-old daughter had to be rescued from a vehicle on the beach.

The Sheriff's Office says the 36-year-old mother left the girl in the car and told the child she was going fishing.

A short time later people walking on the beach found the woman's body.

The girl was in the car, which had become surrounded by water as the tide came in, and was rescued by emergency officials.

The girl was not injured. Police were looking for relatives for her to stay with.
