LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Times has hired editorial cartoonist David Horsey who won two Pulitzer Prizes with the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
In a note to staff Monday, Editor Russ Stanton said Horsey will jump into the 2012 presidential campaign with a visit to South Carolina, which holds its Republican primary Jan. 21. He'll provide cartoons and commentary for the "Top of the Ticket" blog.
Horsey won Pulitzers in 1999 and 2003. Since the P-I ceased print publication in 2009 Horsey provided cartoons for seattlepi.com and Hearst newspapers. He's a graduate of the University of Washington in Seattle.
