BURIEN, Wash. - A Burien man pled for justice in the November stabbing death of his brother. So far there has been no arrest in the deadly early morning attack. Now detectives hope there's a new incentive for someone to stop forward.
Peter Ebinger's family is offering a reward. His older brother Mark was killed back on November 12.
A group jumped the two outside a Burien bar, striking with a bottle and knives.
“We were outnumbered and they had weapons, and we weren't trying to fight. We were trying to get away," said Peter.
But investigators say their attackers, up to eight Hispanic men, swarmed outside of Goodtime Ernie's Sports Bar.
"The attack was violent, brutal and unprovoked," said Jim Laing with the King County Sheriff’s Department.
Both brothers, Peter and Mark Ebinger, were beaten and suffered stab wounds.
EMTs performed CPR, but Mark, an avid weightlifter, didn't make it out of the parking lot alive.
"He was a real outgoing guy, fun loving guy, carefree," said Peter.
Peter continues to recover from at least six stab wounds to his back. He says his brother died almost instantly.
"No homicide case is ever closed. This will remain open until we solve it," said Laing.
The weeks since parents lost a son there's been no arrests and few leads. The family acted, standing before the media and offer a $5000 reward.
"Do the right thing, I know, everyone who knew my brother would have wanted justice for him,” said Peter.
Staff at the bar today said they're not allowed to talk about the crime. Detectives and the family say someone knows the missing piece, to bring justice to a mourning family.
"That info might seem insignificant to them, but it might be the info that cracks this case,” said Laing.
The family is offering $4000 of the reward. The rest is funded by Crime Stoppers.
