A man who was playing video games in a fourplex Tuesday night was hit in the back by a bullet that was shot from outside and went through the wall.

It happened around 10 p.m. in the 4600 block of S. 189th Street.

A King County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said the bullet traveled from the outside, through the laundry room and other walls before hitting the victim. The spokesperson did not know the specific weapon used, but said it was a high-powered weapon of some kind. Shell casings were found outside.

Deputies were not sure if the unit was specifically targeted or if it was a drive-by shooting. Four or five other people were also in the same unit.

There is no suspect description.

The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. His condition was not immediately known.
