McCLEARY, Wash. -  State prison work crews have cleared a large patch of overgrown land in McCleary where searchers have been looking for a girl since June of last year.

Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott told radio station KXRO that removing the brush gave investigators a closer look. A number of items were collected and sent to a lab for examination as possible evidence.

Scott says none of the items are sending up "red flags" in the disappearnce of Lindsey Baum, but he says it's worth the closer look.

I am glad they put them to work for this little girl. She needs to be found for her mom.

I think that the law enforcement agencies have done a really good job in looking for Lindsey. They seem to be leaving nothing unturned.

Brilliant move, most people in prison would slice the head off of anyone that would hurt a little girl anyway, why not give them the chance to volunteer to maybe do something good. This story about this poor girl makes me sick. I wish the police better luck.
