OLYMPIA - People who live in Riverbend Homesites near North Bend and residents of the Riverbend Mobile Home Park between Renton and Maple Valley no longer need to boil their drinking water.

The advisories were issued late Friday as a precaution after E. coli was detected in routine water monitoring samples for each of the water systems. Multiple follow-up samples were taken from both water systems on Friday, and lab results received today show the water for both systems meets safe drinking water standards.

"We're glad this ended quickly, and we appreciate the water systems' cooperation in issuing the health advisories," said Denise Clifford, director of the Department of Health's Office of Drinking Water. "The operators understand the importance of protecting their customers' health."
