SEATTLE -- While people in Western Washington deal with several inches of snow and slippery roads, snow is wreaking havoc elsewhere around the Pacific Northwest.

Inland Northwest

A blizzard warning is in effect in Spokane, Coeur d'Alene and much of Eastern Washington and North Idaho Monday night through Tuesday.

Forecasters are expecting snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches in the valleys with 6 to 10 inches of snow in the mountains.

Arctic temperatures will be in the Inland Northwest all week, with temperatures hovering between 2 degrees and 12 degrees below 0.

Portland

In Portland, snow fell Sunday in the higher elevations, from Longview south to the Willamette Valley.

Freezing fog was the biggest issue for Oregon drivers Monday morning, making slippery highways with treacherous on and off ramps throughout Portland.

The threat of worse winter weather forced TriMet buses to chain up their vehicles, but by Monday morning most of the buses removed the chains because routes were totally dry during the morning commute.

Snow is forecasted to reach Portland by Monday evening.
