LOS ANGELES -- Bill Nye "The Science Guy" is also the injured guy.

"Dancing With the Stars" producers say Nye is receiving medical attention Tuesday for an injury from his most recent performance. No other details were provided.

On Tuesday, Nye posted a photo to Instagram of his DWTS partner and himself with his leg bandaged in what looked like a doctor's office.

He captioned the photo: "Here's the scoop: partially torn ligament. Awaiting the doc's (sic) orders with Tyne. We plan to dance! Stand by..."

"The Science Guy" first gained fame as a cast member of KING 5’s Almost Live in the late 80’s and 90’s.

Nye and his professional dance partner performed a paso doble routine on Monday's episode that received 17 out of 30 possible judges' points.

Injuries have been fairly common during the show's 17 seasons. Olympian Misty May-Treanor had to withdraw from the show after tearing her Achilles tendon during rehearsals. Melissa Gilbert gave herself whiplash and a mild concussion during a high-energy paso doble last year.
