People everywhere are trying to beat the heat – In fact, so many people went to Wild Waves in Federal Way Sunday that streets were clogged for miles.
Federal Way Police say they’ve never seen anything like it, and say it’s due to a combination of the heat, a promotion, and school recently letting out. On a normal day they assign two officers to controlling water park traffic; they sent out 14 on Sunday.
“Blocking people’s drive ways, people trying to circle round and park in front of the mailbox,” said Arla Cole, who lives in a neighborhood near the park where cars packed the streets once the pay lot closed. She said people offered as much as $50 to park in her driveway.
Police say there’s nothing they can do because the cars are parked on public streets.
