Snow continues to fall on the passes as a winter storm warning in the mountains continue. More than a foot of snow has fallen in the last 24 hours, and more snow is on the way.
KING 5 Meteorologist Jim Guy forecasts the snow level rising to 4,000 feet in the afternoon. Four to 12 inches of new snow is expected within a 24-hour period ending at 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
"Rain will continue on Wednesday with highs in the mid to upper 40's. Thursday will see decreasing showers with some afternoon clearing," said Guy of the extended outlook. "Friday and Saturday will see some patchy morning fog but then see partly to mostly sunny skies. Highs will be in the 40's to near 50 degrees."
Earlier Tuesday, chains or traction tires were required on some vehicles. Check the current travel restrictions.
