BELLEVUE, Wash. - An 88-year-old woman is in critical condition after being struck by a pickup truck Monday afternoon.

Bellevue Police say the woman was crossing Richards Road at S.E. 26th Street at about 4:20 p.m. when she was struck by the vehicle.

Police say the driver of the truck, a 22-year-old Mercer Island man, was turning southbound onto Richards Road when he struck the woman. Officers say the driver tried to brake but was unable to stop.

The unidentified woman was knocked to the ground. She suffered multiple serious injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Who woulda thought an 88 year old woman would be injured by being hit by a Ford F-250. Jeeez. His fault period! You telling me she JUMPED in front of him? She's 88! Another jerk that should be put away.

Check his cell phone and texting records which may explain why he didn't see her or stop in time.
