UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - Have a computer that doesn't work? Have a TV you don't need because you recently upgraded?
One group would like to hear from you.
Kenny Becker's SBK Recycling turned Curtis High School's parking lot into a makeshift dump today. He wants all new or used electronics, no matter how old.
"Our goal is to reuse everything that we pick up," said Becker, who owns the e-cycling business.
Saturday, dozens of people stopped by to unload their electronics, free of charge. Piles of TVs, old computers and printers were then loaded into trucks.
Becker says none of the material will be shipped out of state, and he vows to be environmental conscious and not let the material end up in landfills.
He also says he'll try to refurbish and sell whatever he can.
He believes plenty of people will want to take advantage of his free service with the DTV switch just a couple weeks away.
"Definitely encourage people to drop off their old TVs not equipped to handle the digital conversion," he said.
Becker will be accepting electronics again from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Curtis High School in University Place.
