SEATTLE -- Many people will choose to hit the water this Memorial Day weekend. If you're on Lake Washington, WSDOT will open both ends of the 520 floating bridge to boat traffic despite all the construction for the new span.

The east navigation channel closest to Medina is typically closed, but will be open for the holiday. The could create extra congestion with such a narrow passage way. Also, submerged cables mean boaters need to be especially careful.

The west navigation channel is open but at lower clearance.

Both navigation channels beneath SR 520 will be open until 7:00 am Tuesday.

To request an opening of the SR 520 draw span for vessels over 45-feet-tall, call 206-440-4490.
