QUEETS, Wash. - Police with the Quinault Indian Nation euthanized three mixed breed dogs after they attacked a 59-year-old man Wednesday.

The victim, Paul Charles, is in intensive care, according to his sister, Eunice Williams.

"He's pretty bad," said Williams.

According to Charles' family, he was attacked by the dogs while walking past their owner's home Wednesday afternoon. Police said the dogs broke through a fence.

Investigators said the owner of the dogs has been cited for having "vicious" animals. The owner could end up facing negligence or even assault charges. The owner has not been cited for having dangerous dogs in the past.

The attack victim's nephew, a 35-year-old man, also suffered injuries while trying to stop the dogs from attacking his uncle. His mother said her son may have suffered permanent nerve damage to his hand.

She thought his actions saved Charles' life.

"Those dogs would have killed him," said Williams.

Witnesses said as many as four other stray dogs were barking near the scene at the time of the attack.

when I read the article it was my understanding that the owner was cited in this incident but had not been cited in the past for vicious dogs.

Uh, was or was not the owner cited in the past for having vicious animals? The story contradicts itself. "Investigators said the owner of the dogs has been cited for having "vicious" animals. The owner could end up facing negligence or even assault charges. The owner has not been cited for having dangerous dogs in the past." And it doesn't matter the breed. A vicious dog is a vicious dog.

I bet that the dogs were Pug and chihuahua mixed-breeds. Those dogs are so dangerous. Sincerely, A Pit Bull owner
