Witnesses sought in assault on WSU faculty member

PULLMAN, Wash. -- A Washington State University faculty member was seriously beaten near the school’s campus overnight.

Officers responded to the Adams Mall parking in the 6600 block of NE Colorado Street around 2 a.m. Saturday.

Police found the victim, David Warner, unconscious with head injuries. He was taken to Pullman Regional Hospital before being transferred to Sacred Heart in Spokane.

Warner is described as a 41-year-old man with long black hair. He’s about 5-foot-10 and 220 pounds.

Investigators released surveillance photos and are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the assault, or any actions involving the victim and the victim's friend, to contact the Pullman Police Department at (509) 334-0802.
