LONGVIEW, Wash. -- Crews were called Saturday morning to a fire at the EGT grain terminal in Longview.
When firefighters arrived just after 9 a.m. there was smoke coming out of a covered conveyor belt that was feeding grain onto a ship, according to Alan Headley with the Cowlitz County Fire Department.
The fire was brought under control within a couple hours, but crews were still checking for hot spots at 11:30 a.m.
Firefighters were also working to ensure that smoldering grain had not made it onto the ship.
