LYNNWOOD, Wash. -- An 11-year-old Everett boy was transported to Seattle Children's after he was pulled from Martha Lake Monday evening.

According to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office, a swimmer reportedly saw the boy floating in the lake between the ladders at the end of the dock.

Rodney Rochon with the Sheriff's Office said, "The subject said he tried to bring up the body but he couldn't."

Divers from the sheriff's office arrived shortly after and managed to pull the boy from 6-8 feet of water. Despite a cabinet full of life jackets on shore, he was not wearing one.

Rochon said, "once you get out beyond knee deep water, you never know what your next step is going to be.  You can go from being ankle deep to 6 or 8 feet."

The responders performed CPR on shore and the boy "showed some response."   His condition is not known.

This was the 5th time rescuers have had to pull someone from a lake in our area since Friday.  Three people drowned.
