Defense Department reports three JBLM soldiers killed in Afghanistan

Three soldiers from Joint Base Lewis-McChord have been killed in Afghanistan.

The Defense Department says Sergeant Thomas Macpherson died in a firefight on Friday.
   
The 26-year-old from Long Beach, California was on his fourth deployment to Afghanistan. He had deployed once to Iraq.

Also, 24-year old Specialist Brittany Gordon died in Kandahar on Saturday, after her unit was attacked.
 
She was from St. Petersburg, Florida and a member of the Second Stryker Brigade. This was her first deployment.
  
And 30-year old Sergeant Robert Billings of Clarksville, Virginia died after his unit was targeted by an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 3rd Stryker Brigade.
