Thurston County deputies arrested a Joint Base Lewis-McChord Tuesday night for investigation of rape.
Deputies said the soldier met a woman at a party and tried to rape her in the bedroom of a Thurston County home.
She resisted, but he allegedly forced himself on her enough to reach the level of rape.
The suspect will be in court at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Olympia. KING 5 News typically does not name suspects until they are formally charged.
