A Joint-Base Lewis McChord soldier died in Afghanistan this week.
The Department of Defense said 25-year-old Staff Sgt. Rayvon Battle Jr. died Tuesday. He was assigned to the 38th Engineer Company, 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division.
Battle, a North Carolina native, had served two tours in Iraq before his Afghanistan deployment. He arrived at JBLM seven years ago.
