More Army troops stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord will be heading to Afghanistan later this year.

The Pentagon announced Thursday that 3,900 soldiers from the 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division will deploy in late 2012.

Two other JBLM brigades are already in Afghanistan or are in the process of deploying. In February, the 2nd Stryker Brigade got orders for a spring deployment. The 3rd Stryker Brigade began its Afghanistan mission last fall.
