SEATTLE - In October, the KING 5 Investigators revealed that Port of Seattle police divers had discovered, on several different dives, World War II-era munitions beneath Seattle's busiest cruise ship terminal in Smith Cove.
Tuesday, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers started its initial survey in the waters of Elliott Bay to find out how much could be buried below.
View some of what was recovered earlier this year at Terminal 91 by clicking here. It included a large projectile filled with explosive material. There could be a lot more of it underwater.
Divers for the military will go down again this week. The goal is to remove any munitions along Pier 91 prior to the start of the new cruise season in April 2011.
