A huge battle brewed both inside and outside an Everett courthouse Tuesday over a tiny, 4-year-old foster child. The KING 5 Investigators have been exposing the case of "Poca" for weeks, shining a light on the state's poor decision-making and red tape that led to the child being taken from the people who've raised her. This happens all the time. My husband and I have been the Relative Placement thru CPS, of our niece, we actually got her dtraight from the hospital. She is almost 2 years old now, and we are having to fight for custody, even though we have no rights to this child. The system needs to change, and quit giving the bio parents so much time, to get their acts together, and not thinking about whats best for the child, and how that child has bonded with their new home, for almost 2 years. In our case, the final is coming up, and it looks like that even though the bio parent has such a nasty criminal background, including being a low level sex offender, CPD is starting the transition home process, and could really care less, what anyone else says.. This is why the Foster Care, and Relative Placements, are diminishing, because of things like this.. Its disgusting.
