A man sought in connection with a gun store burglary in Gorst in Kitsap County was taken into custody Monday after an incident with U.S. Marshals in a Bremerton park.

Bremerton Police say Patrick Weldon Nelson, 40, and a female companion were taken into custody at about 5 p.m. in Forest Ridge Park.

Police say Nelson was seated in the passenger side of an SUV in a lot in the park; the woman was in the driver's seat.

When Marshals attempted to make the arrest, the driver rammed the Marshals’ vehicle at a high speed and Marshals fired at the SUV multiple times.

Nelson and the woman were taken into custody. Both had injuries related to the crash, and police say there were no indications that either was struck by gunfire.

One Marshal was taken to the hospital for injuries also related to the crash.   No other Marshals were injured.
