Another holiday season is finally upon us. Thousands across America are preparing feasts, shopping for loved ones, and decorating their homes with bright lights and outdoor trees.
But these traditions have changed over the years. New traditions have sprouted between family and friends, while older ones have lessened in popularity.
According to PEW, Americans generally participate in fewer traditions than when they were kids. In 2013, a survey found that only 80 percent of people that sent holiday cards as kids will do so as adults. Whereas 85 percent of people will put up a Christmas tree now that did so as kids.
There are significant generational differences in the way Americans plan to celebrate.
