Delyn Kosbab is an electrician who's spent years remodeling her quiet home set in the woods, but now the West Seattle resident feels like she's getting zapped by West Coast Vinyl.
"For them to have my deposit, they did not fulfill my contract , they were not returning phone calls. It was very frustrating," she said.
In July, Delyn put $1200 down for two new windows in her home but there were problems with one going in the kitchen.
"I could see that the window didn't fit. At that point I thought they were going to go away make me another window and come back," she said.
They never did and Delyn says the crew left a real mess behind.
"They took the storm window and broke it."
What was left of the old window was nothing but broken and split wood.
"There is a quarter of an inch gap where the air comes through and a little bit, I duct taped it in," she said.
After calling the company numerous times to no avail, Delyn called me. I got a hold of West Coast Vinyl.
A week later a visitor stopped by her home.
"There was a communication gap somewhere, " West Coast Vinyl salesman Al Delossantos told me. He says the company wanted to take care of Delyn's problem and blamed a communication issue.
"What we promised the homeowner because of the delay was compensation of the time spent," he said.
So West Coast Vinyl went above and beyond by first returning her deposit and then putting the windows in absolutely free. Delyn couldn't be happier.
The owner of the company said in 30 years of business this hasn't happened before and attributes the mixup to a former employee.
We're glad they came through.
