TUKWILA, Wash. - "I thought it was 150 percent better, I really do think they've done a wonderful job," said Robert Robinson who couldn't be happier with his backyard. "They leveled it all off, the seeded it like they said they were going to do."
Robert's yard looked a different years ago. He had a raised landscaped rock garden, and a few trees that bordered his property. Then Sound Transit asked Robert if they could use his backyard to work on the light rail line. They left in July of last year and promised to restore his backyard in a few months.
Jesse Jones: "What did they do?"
Robert Robinson: "Nothing. They didn't do any of that they didn't do anything, they just kind of cleaned it up and that was it."
A fence the agency had rebuilt came up short, and rocks would barrel down the hill into Robert's yard. After I contacted the Sound Transit, they said they would make it right by the end of October.
We checked in to see progress being made, and I saw crews hustling. They installed in a drainage system and made everything just right. They also reseeded the grass. As an extra bonus touch, the crew even fixed Roberts gutter.
Jesse Jones: "So you're happy with everything that's happened?"
Robert Robinson: "Oh, I'm very happy!"
Sound Transit told us Robert's project was delayed simply because it was low on their priority list. We're glad they moved it up and got it done.
