SEATTLE -- A Seattle architectural firm has changed the way it designs low-cost urban housing. CollinsWoerman creates pre-manufactured apartments that can be put-up in half the time with "greener" results.

Architect Arlan Collins says his firm's design offers more efficient use of space and energy, and he says sustainability is built right into the structure.

"We're using a lot less material because we're building a lot of the parts offsite," said Collins. "We have a higher productivity of labor and we have a lot less materials so the building is fundamentally green."

Collins says the building provides a different way for tenants to live with more natural light and higher quality spaces at lower costs.
