Calm seas helped cleanup crews along the Gulf Coast lay more protective boom around sensitive wetlands and fishing grounds Tuesday. It's also giving them time to look at alternative ways to attack the spill.
Doug Ellis's Absorbtion Corporation in Ferndale developed a product, Absorbent 'W', that converts waste from paper mills into a safe and healthy bedding for small pets. But he says he can turn that same waste into the perfect product to soak up oil from damaged wetlands.
