VANCOUVER, Wash. -- The Union High School band runs a fireworks stand every year to raise money.

This year thieves broke in and stole about $3,000 worth of fireworks early Wednesday morning.

The fireworks sale is the biggest fundraiser the band puts on every year.

"I think for people to come steal from the high school band that's really sad." said one parent.

The theft has slowed things down but it won't stop the band according to one volunteer who said "they got some stuff but we gotta keep going."

The stand will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. through July 4 near the corner of Northeast 162 Avenue and 18th Street.
