Ingraham, Bridgeport ranked in top high schools for low-income students

Two local high schools have made Newsweek's Top 500 High Schools in the country for low-income students.

Newport High School in Bellevue ranked 104 on the list, while Ingraham High School came in at 343.

Other schools in Washington that made the list was Toppenish (60), Cheney (299) and Bridgeport (421).

Newsweek's "Beating the Odds" list identifies schools that do an excellent job of preparing students for college while overcoming obstacles posed by students at an economic advantage.
