Thanksgiving has come and gone, and now it’s time to start counting down to Christmas. There are plenty of events around Seattle this weekend to get you in the holiday spirit.

Lynn Jacobson, Features Editor at the Seattle Times, joins us to share some of the highlights.

“The Nutcracker”

Pacific Northwest Ballet's candy-colored rendition of this holiday favorite has been bringing families together for three decades. It gets underway Saturday for a month long run at McCaw Hall.

“A Christmas Carol”

Another local classic opens this weekend. ACT Theatre's production, staged in the round, captures the wonder and pathos of Charles Dickens' original story. It opens Friday and runs through December.

Magic in the Market

After Santa leads Friday's downtown Seattle holiday parade, he'll return Saturday to greet visitors to Pike Place Market.  Look for carolers, light displays and a 5 p.m. lighting of the market's holiday tree.
