It's going to be another beautiful weekend in the Pacific Northwest and there are plenty of ways to celebrate. Lynn Jacobson, the features editor of The Seattle Times, shared some activities happening this June weekend.
Sonic Evolution: Rapper Sir Mix-A-Lot, the indie band Pickwick and Seattle Symphony maestro Ludovic Morlot share a stage Friday night at Benaroya Hall. The performance is a mix of symphonic music and contemporary sounds that will bridge the gap between high and popular culture.
Waterfront Whimsea: The restaurants and attractions on Seattle's waterfront have banded together to bring kids and families a day of fun in the sun from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The band The Not-Its!, the Bubbleman, Seafair clowns and the Seattle Fire Department's fire boat are scheduled to appear.
SIFF Closing Night: After three weekends and more than 200 films, the Seattle International Film Festival is drawing to a close. Among the highlights: A Sunday-morning screening of "How to Train Your Drag 2" and a closing-night gala featuring "The One I Love" at Cinerama.
