The holidays are in full swing, and there are plenty of events around Seattle to get you in the season spirit. Lynn Jacobson, Features Editor at the Seattle Times, shares some of the highlights.

Holiday Pops

The December tradition kicks off this weekend at Benaroya Hall. Newly appointed conductor Jeff Tyzik will lead the Seattle Symphony in renditions of both classic and new holiday tunes.

Ice Skating

The popular rinks at Seattle Center and the Bellevue Downtown Park will be open this weekend. Both have the option to rent skates if you do not own a pair, and its perfect fun for the whole family.

Figgy Pudding Caroling Contest

About 40 groups of singers will pack the streets around Westlake Friday evening for the 27th annual caroling contest. It’s fee to the public, but any donations will benefit the Pike Market Senior Center and Food Bank.
