It’s a great weekend to take in the art events happening around the city. Lynn Jacobson, features editor of The Seattle Times, has “what’s going on” in Seattle.

Langston Hughes Film Festival
This weeklong festival is in its tenth year at the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute, which was recently renovated. It kicks off Saturday with a screening of the 1984 sci-fi satire, "The Brother From Another Planet."

Swan Lake
One of the greatest ballets - and ballet scores - of all times, performed by Pacific Northwest Ballet and the PNB orchestra, beginning Friday at McCaw Hall.

World Rhythm Festival

It's billed as the largest free percussion festival in the world. Drummers and dancers from around the globe perform and host workshops for thousands of participants. Bring your own, buy your own or beg your own drum. Friday through Sunday at Seattle Center.
