Seattle Human'es Walk for the Animals is a day of fun for people and their dogs to raise critical life-saving funds to provide food, medical care and shelter to the animals.

The Sept. 22 walk begins at 10 a.m., with registration beginning at 9 a.m. There is a $30 Registration Fee for each participant (adult and youth). Each registered walker will receive a Walk t-shirt and one pet bandana. Additional bandanas are available for purchase. (Register now)

Seattle Humane hopes to raise $150,000 this year.

You don't need to have a dog to participate in the two-mile walk that begins at University Village and travels through the Union Bay Natural Area Trails.

Enjoy stops along the route for water (for people and pets) or have your photo taken at the Photo Stop.

After the Walk, stay for FidoFEST, a dog-centric afternoon, from 11am to 4pm with contests, adoptable animals, kid's activities and pet-related vendors.

Enter the on-stage contests and your pup could be crowned, Beautiful Baby, Cutest Mutt, Savvy Senior, or Pet Owner Look Alike. Each contest entry is $5 and is a donation to the Seattle Humane Society.

If you can't attend the Walk, you can still be a Virtual Walker and raise money for the animals. You can have the Walk T-shirt and pet bandana mailed to you or you can schedule to pick up your items following the Walk. Email events@seattlehumane.org with any questions.
