If your cat is not "fixed" yet, February is the month to do it.
The Seattle Humane Society has special pricing on cat spays and neuters during the month of February in observance World Spay Day, which is Feb. 26.
On that day, Seattle Humane will offer $5 neuter and $15 spay surgeries for cats belonging to qualified-income households (additional charges may apply for complicated surgeries). Feline microchipping and FVRCP vaccines will also be available for $5 each.
If you can’t make it on Feb. 26, pricing the rest of the month will be $10 for neuters and $25 for spays.
Families of four in King County with an income of $65,000 or less qualify for services.
Appointments are required. To check if you qualify and to make an appointment online visit seattlehumane.org/fix or call (425) 649-7560.
The surgeries will be done at the Seattle Humane Society, 13212 SE Eastgate Way in Bellevue. Cats must be at least 4 months old.
As part of the World Spay Day observance, Seattle Humane is also collaborating with other shelters, rescues and local veterinarians in the region. To find a participating shelter and vet clinic nearest you, visit our website at seattlehumane.org/fix.
Spaying/neutering keeps pets from producing unwanted litters and improves pets' health. Other benefits include making them less likely to roam and become injured, less likely to spray or mark, and less likely to exhibit dominant behavior.
The following Shelter Partners are offering spay/neuter discounts to low-income households. Services, pricing and qualifications vary per participating shelter. Community Cat Coalition, Everett Animal Services, Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project, Homeward Pet Adoption Center, Humane Society of Skagit Valley, King County Regional Animal Services, MEOW, NOAH, Pasado's Safe Haven, PAWS, Purrfect Pals, Seattle Animal Shelter, WAIF.
