The Seattle Mariners started their season on the road last Monday night with a 2-0 win over the Oakland A's.
As we gear up for the M's home opener on Monday, April 8, legendary slugger Edgar Martinez joined Margaret to talk baseball and introduce his newest ventures: Mezcal Reposado tequila (a partnership with Gene Juarez) and two eateries at Safeco Field: Edgar's Cantina and Home Run Porch. Fans can try cocktails created by Anu Apte from Rob Roy, featuring tequila and other liquors. Renowned Chef Ethan Stowell created the menus for both places, featuring "Northwest Mex" flavors and fan-friendly dishes.
Executive Chef Ryan Stone from Centerplate's B.C. Place joined Margaret and Edgar to talk about and showcase new dishes to please any Vegan (or non Vegan) palate. He prepared two types of vegan, Asian-style steamed buns that are available at Bao-Choi. Fans can also find vegetarian and gluten-free foods at a number of Safeco eateries, including Field Roast, which will offer a vegan chili cheese dog this season!
The Mariners' Home Opener takes place Monday, April 8, when the M's welcome the Houston Astros to Safeco Field. Festivities get underway around 6:30pm, with live music, special guests and a ceremonial first pitch by former M's pitching great Jamie Moyer.
