WASHINGTON — Chris Cox is on roll -- or make that a mow.
The mowers are silent at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington during the government shutdown.
So, Cox decided to the mow the grass himself.
The South Carolina man went to the National Mall with a mower and chainsaw to clean up grounds.
Cox tells WNEW Radio he's not motivated by politics. Cox adds "these are our memorials."
Police let Cox act as a volunteer groundskeeper for a while, before asking him to move on.
