Nearly 100 goats will be having the time of their lives this Saturday at the Goatalympics.
New Moon Farm Goat Sanctuary and Rescue is holding the annual event that raises funds for homeless and neglected goats.
Rather than focusing on conformation and production, like many goat shows, the Goatalympics is all about having fun with pet goats. It is a chance for people to show off their ruminant's skills with events ranging from obstacle courses and races to costume and stall decorating contests. You can enter your goat on the day of the show and no training is needed.
The event is the main fundraiser of the year for New Moon Farm, a sanctuary for animals in need, providing rescue, rehabilitation and adoption. Whether victims of financial difficulties, neglect, or abuse, they accept animals via owner surrender as well as by animal control.
