How many times have you driven over one of Seattle's bridges and seen all the people out on the water enjoying their boats and wished it was you? Well, now it can be.

As the weather heats up, many people are looking for ways to get out on the water. A handful of companies are now renting motorized watercraft in the area, including boats and waverunners. Most companies send a teacher out with renters to show them how to use the watercraft and make sure they know the rules before they go out on their own. Companies can also issue a one-day boating license if renters do not already have one.

There are also programs called "boat shares" where people can have use of a boat and all the toys that come along with it without incurring all of the cost associated with owning a boat. You do not clean the boat, insure the boat or maintain it -- all you have to do is show up and use it.
