Five years ago 2 moms from Bellevue decided they wanted to make a difference in the lives of children around the world, so they built a school in Rwanda.

Suzanne McGill and Shal Foster dreamed up the Rwanda Girls Initiative during one of their daily walks.
The women established a non-profit and built the Gashora Girls Academy.
The boarding school is for girls in 9th through 12th grades.

Recently the school celebrated its first graduating class.
Two of the graduates talked with KING 5 Morning News.
Both young women plan to study medicine and practice in their native Rwanda.
