The Average Joe Cat Show - a fun, family-friendly event hosted by Purrfect Pals - is this Saturday in Shoreline.

Famous felines Oskar the Blind Cat and his sidekick, Klaus, will be there for all the fun and will bring some of their great cat toys.

Dozens of cats will compete in silly categories such as “Most Impressive Ear Hair” and “Loudest Purr” and the photography show will feature kitty models competing for titles like “Best Cat in a Box” and “Guiltiest Looking Cat.”

The event will also feature adoptable kitties from 10 Puget Sound-area shelters and rescue groups.

Also, hot dogs and gourmet ice cream, a vendor fair designed with cat lovers in mind and a silent auction to support Purrfect Pals.

This year, Purrfect Pals foster dad John Bartlett, whose live kitten cam has a huge following, will be at the show.

Bartlett's Critter Room Facebook page has more than 36,000 followers, Purrfect Pals says he has inspired hundreds of people all across the world to start fostering cats and kittens in need.
